I dont know what Im doing wrong here... When I put a texture on the geometry and then scale it in the -x my geo turns black?!?!?:poly118: I can see the texture on it at an extreme angle but not from the front. This is only in Viewport 2.0... It seems as if the light just isn't reacting as it should on the object. Ive checked my normals and they are all facing the correct direction.:poly141: ANY help would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks!

(Viewport 2.0 is a Maya feature)
I'm not sure if Maya suffer from the same backwater functionality...
If you need it to remain a separate object, do the following :
Freeze transforms
Hit Ctrl+A to bring up the attributes box
Under the shape tab, find "render stats/attributes" (can't remember exactly what its called it's called just now, don't have Maya here)
Untick "opposite"
Then finally do normals>reverse
All of that insures that you'll have a clean piece of geometry that won't cause you problems later, particularly if you export to other apps.
