Maya Rotator doohicky

Uuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhg...
I wish I didn't have to make a new thread for this, but I couldn't find anything on the interwebs that helped me solve my... "problem".

All of a sudden when I go to use my rotator tool I can't click "within" the tool to do a rotate-in-all-axis. Instead I can ONLY click on constrained axis. I've tried all the basic 1-2-3 steps like resetting prefs, tool setting, etc.

How embarrassing!

What am I missing here?

Double click the rotate tool on the left and make sure you have "Center as virtual trackball" enabled

I tried dinking around with the tool settings previously, but when I went back to double check what you mentioned with the Virtual Trackball, turns out that disabling it, exiting the tools setting then re-enabling it fixed it
