Topic says it all.
Will Photoshop CS5.1 work? (I'm a lazy person... Sorta)
What my 3D Modeling goals are:
-Making BSP Maps
-Modeling sh*t for Team Fortress 2
However, it must meet in the criteria below.
-For Mac
-Below $1000 (The Autodesk sh*t is expensive...)
-Has a SMD/MDL Plug-in on the interwebs.
Or:
I could get a Virtual Machine and install Source SDK.
So far, getting the virtual machine is the best path. Source SDK is free... (Then there's GCF Scape!)

If you are a student you can get the autodesk products very cheaply and possibly free. just check out their student site.
Eric: i pruned ricks comment, its was utterly pointless.
YEah... I'm 13 years old... Got an Ubered discount on my CS5... And got CS5.1 from one of my Dad's friends at Adobe for about $100 :poly142:
And also, my name is Eric. Clarify which one! xD (I clearly know you meant the other guy.)
EDIT: I also have Blender, but it turns out to be kinda useless to me, in terms of Pro modeling. Photoshop has a 3D modeling feature too, but it's not really for game-modeling. T_T
Learning it is the key though
Photoshops modeling tools/Features/What ever is useless....to me anyway its not designed to model but edit/Create images instead
Ya make textures with it round here padawan
Modeling apps are
Maya <--- I use this
3ds Max
Blender (Free)
Cinema4D
Modo (Made for modeling)
CAD Softwares
Wings3D (Free)
VoidWorld
Milkshape
Sketchup
Softimage (Xsi Mod tool is free and awesome but capped at version 7.5)
Houdini (I have yet to use because it refuses to boot)
Theres many others but these are the ones that come to mind quickest
your 13 forget 'Pro modelling' you need to learn the basics, blender can facilitate that. while there are differences between the modelling tools you can learn the core skills of modelling in any of them.
also photoshop isn't a modelling tool, its a texturing tool.
Oh believe me, Blender is so hard to navigate compared to my Trial of 3DS Max.

But if you can learn Blender or 3ds max, you will be able to easily adapt to any other software, so worth the time to sit and decipher the interface and learn how to use it.
