Hey guys my names Gennaro grazioso and thought id start posting some of my work up here. Well here is my most recent model, finished with the HP now moving onto the lowpoly.
Ok so here is the lowpoly bake for rocky, im pretty happy with the results but i still have some cleanup on the NM and AO map. He is just under 6500 tris. Diffuse time
Here is the highres sculpt of the little fella. This is the first pass so i will be going in there and adding wood grain and some other tiny details later.
ere are some sketches i did last night for a freelance job, going to be making some small animations for each character. i need to create many more designs for all kinds of animals, hope you like it.
Here is a character i just finished, hes called stoick and hes from how to train your dragon. I still have work to do on him, he needs weapons, an environment and a dragon to face hopefully ill have it done by the end of the week. 778tris in total, 256 diffuse and spec map. More updates shortly
Well i starting in Max making the lowpoly model (nothing fancy there) i then exported the lowres mesh into Zbrush. From there i subdivided the mesh a bunch of times but with smt turned off, its in the geometry pallette it stops the mesh from smoothing so when i eventually bake the mesh itll match my lowpoly perfectly because the mesh wasnt changed from its original state. Then i started polypainting on a single layer, may seem unpractical but i worked alot faster not worrying about what lyer is on what, i just painted colour straight in and had a blast once i was finshed texturing it i exported the highres version ready to bake the texture from. I spent some time unwrapping the character, just to try get the most out of it, straightening edges, trying to do as much mirroring as possible sometimes even turning it into quaters. When i baked it i took it into photoshop and did some colour corrections, added some hsadows and highlights and then made a spec map. hope it helped if there is anymore interest on this topic ill do some video tutorials to show you more indepth.
Well its been a while since i last updated but here is Oswald, i think im gonig to leave the Diffse map now and start working on the Spec map. This is just a printscreen with no fancy lighting or postproccessing, just the raw model and textures. Any crits would be great cheers
SoulWind, im confussed, it said my thread moved... weird anyhoo here is a model im making atm alongside many other projects, im trying to make a realistic head bust of a builder just to push myself. sculpt is alsmot done now, he needs a set of teeth and throat, the straps round for the hat and some stiching o the yellow jacket thing that they wear

- Id cut the green in the hair down a little bit.
- the beard looks a little odd around the edges
