Hey everyone! I'm working on my own interpretation of
Marc Brunet's Medic for the Game Character Pipeline course at
The Rydan Workshop. I liked the idea he had, but wanted to make it my own. Plus the concept doesn't show the front or side so I couldn't really do the entire thing without making my own concept of it. So, I guess this is fan art.
It's my first time trying to design any sort of mechanics, and I'm kind of stuck on how to incorporate syringe storage.

Sorry, it was showing before, not sure what happened.
I've blocked out her body, minus her face and feet (the feet will be covered).
I'm also thinking I'll make her hair out of image planes, because I've never done that before and this hair just isn't working right now, the geo's all messed up.
Can't wait to get her into Zbrush. This basics thing is killing me!
Oh yeah! In order to keep the ball-bearing wing joint clean, I had to make the wings overlap each other, which would be her "default position". Once I'm finished I'll be rigging them up and there will be many options for silhouette changing and functionality.
Anyway, here's where I'm at:
no image again : (
what's with the medical bag on the back of her head? that looks oddly placed to me.
Really? I use it in every single ref sheet of mine... And I'm an environmental artist primarily! (Just kidding)
But really, when you're working with something like this, it's perfectly reasonable to have nudity in your reference. If you're emulating the shape of the human body, especially like this, there is really no better example.
There's a certain maturity level involved with being an artist... As well as a certain level of where you have to sit back and go, "hehehehe, boobs".
Oh so true.
No idea why the images aren't working.. Here's hoping it works this time.
how are you planning to model a nude character without nude reference?
looks good so far OP, sweet ass concept aswell (excuse the pun)
I've never done hard-surface sculpting before. How do I prevent the hard-edges from staying when I subdivide, without smoothing it? Also, What sort of brush is good for hinges, creases, etc?
She was my first game-res character that I actually invested some time into, but since I started her and 'finished' her, I think I've improved in a few ways.
I'll definitely be investing more time and love into the next thing I do. That is, if I can get to it after work!
So, until she's rigged and moving, tah-tah for now! And thanks to everyone for commenting!
