Just posting a hi poly Mauser pistol. Specifically a broom handle red 9. I just need to finish the handle, and some of the smaller detail so I can bake it to a low poly. Looking for some feedback before I finalize the Hi. Thanks in advance.
It will be first person. Yeah I did a test bake and the edges weren't what I'd hoped they'd be. So making them a bit rounder to catch more highlight should be the fix. Thanks for the tip. Will fix and post bake soon.
Generally a good rule of thumb is: If your edges are obviously aliasing in the viewport, from a reasonable viewing distance(like in the screenshot here) your edges are too tight. This can be very helpful if you start to just think about it visually.
Oh and, zoom out while working, often! Getting caught up adding detail zoomed in too far is an easy way to end up with a mesh like this.
