So now Visceral are shutting down. Not officially confirmed yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time

Of the remaining studios I guess the Australian Visceral studio was probably one of the less surprising closures given they're wholly owned by EA and developing expensive current gen titles in Australia with it's sky-high dollar value, but that doesn't change the fact that this is bullshit.

Big condolences to all the crew working there. Something really needs to change. Lord only knows what that thing is, but this can't go on.

oh fuck my life. but then again, i realised by now I'll have to move overseas to get a job in the industry anyways.

Dont worry, when the world economy collapses there should be plenty of opportunity for new studios to open which cater to the home market.

It's the dangers of being a jumped up outsource country. I guess what needs to happen if for studios to open without the reliance on US funding, which is a whole lot easier said than done.
