In the concept it looks as though the twin on the right doesn't have an arm below her elbow.. maybe I'm just reading it wrong. Also, the two are joined at the point where the satin(?) fabric ends in the concept, there's no material between them.
The bake looks pretty good, I'd say it could do with some more love though, especially the clothes, stuff like buttons and stitching seems to be missing.
oh, i totally forgot the buttons on the shorts! and i was thinking the same thing about the right twins arm too, but thought it would look cooler if it had both arms tied behind or something. So I'm going with that.
I also put a little fabric between the girls because trying to put this together and having it all line up was kind of difficult... but maybe i'll work on it more and see what i can do. Thanks!
great progress so far, although im not too sure about the wrinkles. Looking at the concept id say a couple of your wrinkles look like they are changing direction too often. looks much wavier than in the illustration. And maybe the top of the wrinkles look too pinched?? Just my opinion.
Other than that i really like the shapes you have going on in the anatomy. The legs and hands look especially nice.
Looking pretty good. Great job on the anatomy. Very close to the concept. I checked the concept out and it looks like the twin on the right does not have forearms. But I see you made a design change in your post so thats cool. I would just be careful with where the arms lay. Right now the right side twin's left arm is protruding through the left twin's body. (boy that was confusing to type).
I agree with Tadao on the wrinkles. Could use a little more love. Maybe keep the flow of the fabric in one direction to make it a little more stylistic??
I`ll chime in and say a wrinkle study is probably in order as its dragging down an otherwise intriguing piece. (I still need to jump on the wrinkle study bandwagon myself). The seam where they attach makes me feel really uncomfortable for some reason. Arbys roast beef comes to mind. :P
ok i'll see what i can do about the "crispiness", haha i'm guessing that means a few sharper folds/edges? and i'll be putting in the cord later. I guess i could also define the stitching better, the area that the cord sort of attaches to. And I can make those shoe straps more defined as well. Thanks!
Agreeing with Pegabrony....there's something really morbidly fascinating about this.
Your update on the cloth works well, it needed a bit of weight to the fabric - satin is a weird one, it weighs barely anything but seems to hang like a heavier cloth (has a tendency to cling as well)
Keep up the great work.
Ok, I went over the shorts one more time and I'm pretty happy with them now. I also defined the shoe straps. I decided to pose them because the only other stuff I need to model is the chord the left one is holding and the hair! Oh and the lighting set up I have going on is not final, I just sort of like it for now.
Really cool man, I think a lot of cg stuff doesn't always have a strong idea to back up the strong execution but in this case it totally does. I'm not a character artist so I can't say much but I like it and I can't wait to see how it turns out!
Thanks guys! I guess i should say im a girl, with all the "man" talk going on... haha. Anyway, I have finally finished the model! I will work on the shape of the hair a more as I texture it. I also tried the new nDO 2 and redid my occlusion maps. I think they look a lot better, there's a lot more definition and detail that it brought out. Anyway, I'm really excited to start texturing this!
Omoplat = Shoulder blades... So you don't have to bother looking it up. I think allaze has a point. Both girls shoulders look to be in the same position even though one has her hands pulled behind her back.
Looking good, apart from the Shoulder blades problem, the string that the left sister holds in her hand goes under the legs and ends up on the other sister hands, it shows that she dominates the other and that shes holding the strings.
I would also add another 2 loops to the shoulder sillouette, it looks very angular as it is, that will also allow you to pose the shoulders on the restrained twin a little more acurately without ugly distortion.
well i'll see what i can do about the omoplat problem, i did realize it wasn't right but was kind of lazy about trying to fix it... i'll see what i can do! and i'll put in another edge loop to smooth the shoulders out, that's easy enough And about the string the one twin is holding. I thought about that and sort of made a design change, there were just certain things i had an idea about when i looked at the concept. i feel like it's weird if the string is going between the legs to the other sister... i mean, i could have it go around the legs instead... well, maybe i'll end up changing it. we'll see! thanks for the c+c!
i decided you guys were right about the cord and changed it! also fixed the shoulder blades the best i could. i started working on the texture and im liking it so far but still a lot of work to do. im noticing the faces seem too long now... yo9u can see it especially in the left twin (eyes also are too "open," but maybe when i add eyelashes it'll look better). i also am working on the spec maps as i go. and i played with the lighting, trying to match it to the concept
btw, sorry this should probably have "NSFW" in the title now, right?
Ah, I realized the faces looked too long because of the camera "angle of view" or whatever it's called. Anyway, this is really close to being finished! I'm having some annoying hair issues... i think that's just cause of maya. I've tried polygon sorting and object sorting, and a bunch of stuff, but I don't know. I was going to try bringing this into marmoset or udk, so that might change things anyway.
After looking over your concept, it looks like the upper eyelids on the 2nd girl on the right are too caucasian rather than asian, but that could be just me. Other than that, great job on this!
What are you rendering this with? The skin in particular feels pretty unnatural and plastic-y, might be good to use something with a decent skin shader.
that is really cool and creepy. we're so used to seeing overly exagerrated adult anatomy that doing 'realistic' adolescent anatomy can be really difficult. i for one applaud your efforts.
besides what has been mentioned so far their back anatomy could use some attention (i.e. spine)
@Kot_Leopold: You are right! I don't know why it looks like that though... the faces are exactly the same, haha. Maybe it's just the angle. I'll take a look at it though
@EarthQuake: I'm using maya's hardware renderer now. I'm not really sure how to make the skin look better... I have added a skin overlay on the texture and in the normals and spec. All I can think of is changing the spec, unless you know of another way?
@Redfender: thanks! and I will do something about the back cause i agree.
really nice man- biggest thing that jumps out at me that needs work is basic material definition. right now it all looks like the same plastic-esque material. Play around with different spec/gloss/diff values and see where that takes you.

Thanks for the help guys!
I think you need a gloss map to help define the materials more. As it stands right now the skin looks the same as the heels, tights, and cloth.
I would get this into a game engine or Marmoset to really show it off.
Now I'm seriously finished! I took you guy's advice and made a gloss map and brought it into marmoset, and I am happy with everything and ready to move on. Thanks for all the c+c everyone
Very nice results, great job! Minor nitpick would be the that top of the heads have some faceting, and if you have the budget for it I'd round those out.

coming along !
I agree with Tenchi that there's a bit of crispness that needs to be added before it's perfect but definitely a significant improvement.
Also, where is the thread/cord/stitches which hold it together?
Looking at the boots, I think the straps could be better defined too.
Keep it up!

doing pretty well, keep on
Really nice work so far man.
Nice work madam.

I'll post some breakdown shots later.
I see you give them a bit of your own style.
