Played the demo (on Steam) for a bit earlier, felt very Max Payne by-way-of Blade Runner in all the right ways. A little
there wasn't a thread here already but hey, that's what keyboards are for.
from the official site"Hard Reset is an action-packed, single-player shooter for the PC. Set in a cyberpunk city, Hard Reset
emphasizes over-the-top destruction and gives you a large variety of weapons to dispatch hordes of enemies."
that's right folks, it's a pc shooter, and it plays like one

anyway I'm not some kinda wizard with the words here so I'll let the game speak for itself but if you're a fan of the more "classic" pc style shooters I think you'll really dig this.

I didn't realize there was a demo, I'll have to dl it now.
that said the story, comic book cut-scenes and voice acting are pretty bad imo.
but the game-play is fun
The story definatley had some cheese going on but it felt more deliberate than not. Like the difference between Adam West Batman and Joel Schumacker Batman
I dunno, at a $27 (cdn) price-point I think it's pretty fucking hard to resist.
plus giant shooty-shooty boss doodz
not to mention the main menu was also annoying. I know you guys all love the Blade Runner-esque dystopian environments but overall it felt kind of uninspired to me, with big guns coverin the screen firing small muzzleflashes with strange tactile feedback, the charger robots and Tank-ish robot, the two weapons/recharging ammo thing (I picked Grenade Launcher + its Gravity Grenade, which sucked). I couldn't get absorbed into this killerspiele.
And yeah I tried to make the most out of the demo by playing it on Insane difficulty.
Following the wiring to energy sources was a neat idea though, prevents guide dangits
At least for this game. It feels like they wanted a visual masterpiece, but not a gameplay masterpiece.
transforming weapons though.
EDIT: OK, gameplay IS important Still the game looks impressive considering the size of the team.
Is the game any good?

The gameplay is fun in the same way that Serious Sam is fun, but it lacks the wackiness and variety of Sam to hold you over for extended periods.
There's an extended edition due out sometime around March 30 (but maybe already out in some places?)
If the new stuff is free or really cheap for people who already have it than I'd definatley give it some more time.
