[FONT="]Key Responsibilities[/FONT]- [FONT="]Plays a key, collaborative role to turn an original concept into a detailed set of usable mechanics, interactions and rules for AAA single-player and multiplayer action games[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Forms a clear vision of how the various game systems interact with each other, and then drills down into each sub-system for detailed design work[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Collaborates with other disciplines to design, prototype, implement and tune game mechanics[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Actively solicits feedback to continuously improve his designs[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Proactively anticipates problem areas and looks for preventative solutions[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Is meticulous at documenting his work, meeting deadlines and managing tasks effectively[/FONT]
[FONT="]Qualifications[/FONT]- [FONT="]4+ years experience as a game systems designer working in the industry; track record of shipped titles as a designer[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; excellent ability to judge details vs. the big picture[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Highly knowledgeable in various aspects of design including some of the following: [/FONT]
- [FONT="]Design, prototyping and tuning of complex parameter systems like in Multiplayer, RPG or RTS games, such as character development trees, tech trees, virtual economies [/FONT]
- [FONT="]Design, prototyping and tuning of weapons, combat or AI systems[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Highly creative and able to rapidly concept solutions to design challenges[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; with design as well as with other disciplines (engineering, QA, ..)[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Team player; ability to take and apply direction; ability to constructively take feedback on work and provide valuable feedback to others[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Commitment to AAA quality[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Passionate about videogames and videogame design[/FONT]
[FONT="]Desirable skills[/FONT]- [FONT="]Previous experience working on FPS or 3rd person action titles, as well as other genres[/FONT]
- [FONT="]A plus would be a candidate that is also familiar with cross platform games and associated business models, e.g. in-game items unlocked via micro-transactions in browser-based derivative game[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Experience working with the Unreal Engine is a plus[/FONT]
- [FONT="]Skilled at using lo-fidelity tools (spreadsheets, paper) to prototype and tune systems before they get implemented in-game[/FONT]
