PROJECT NAME
Working on it... how about
Sue?
DESCRIPTION
A tactical shooter with realistic properties.
The focus is on close quarter engagements using real world weapons, locations and player capabilities.
All the features of a modern tactical shooter, such as...
- unlocks
- achievements
- perks
- classes
- cover system
- DLC
... will not be included.Instead, time will be spent on supporting features like:
- A true first person viewpoint.
- An intuitive movement system based on a standard FPS keyboard & mouse setup.
- Multiple player positions, including prone.
- Advanced weapon handling, including collision, bracing & positions (low ready, sul etc).
- Improved inventory system, with support for player loadout & weapon customisation.
- Head tracking support via standard webcam.
- Customizable scenario support.
To see some of these features in action, check out the video below and
download the TFP demo (source included).
PLAN
The current plan is to get a basic version together while getting familiar with the tech and each other.
The basic version will hopefully include:
- basics of the movement system
- handgun support with 3-6 handguns
- basic unarmed combat (punch, kick etc)
- basic equipment (holster, mag pouch etc)
- basic character customization (skin choice & equipment positioning)
A player model was purchased by a friend involved in the project in a haphazard sort of way.
This model is currently being worked on by
Bern.
In the meantime, I'm fumbling my way through various animations.
FILLED POSITIONSProject Management, Gameplay Programming & Overall Design
Me, myself & I.
The rate I'm going, I'll be adding "Basic Animator & PR" to that list.

3D Artist(?)
What ever he wants to be called, its filled by
Bern.
He's from Finland.
Could be worse... could be from Australia.
AVAILABLE POSITIONSAnimator
This person would be responsible for the bulk of the player animations.
Ability to model and rig a bonus, but not required.
Familiarity with CQB tactics and weapon handling would be great, but again, not required.
EXAMPLES
See
this thread for info, download & source of TFP Demo shown above.
