Bird Boy.
Hi, a work in progress. The character is an alien hunter boy with his predator, partner. The setting is arid plain, tribal tech.
I wanted to make an adventurous figure and I wanted to create tension between a beautiful boy's face and (what we would find) the ugliness of his mandebils.
Also I want to play with the relationship between the two figures. I am not sure if the bird will have membranes or feathers yet.
Cheers

Damn anatomy looks great man and i also love the pose Feathers, feathers
disanski, thanks, feathers it is!
Had a look to see how the figure would be without the tusks. Put some muscles in the legs and changed the obliques. If they still look strange I will slope them even more, I think that is what looked strange.

Thanks guys. Yes the body still has lines where volumes should be. For the first time in a long time I might have to retopo the hipoly.
Roughed in the wings. I like the size of the bird so far.
So, there was a comment that the torso was too long, and it was. A quick overlay with an image made in MakeHuman and mounted on zbrushs image plane showed that the ribcage was too narrow, and the hips were too low, also there was a bow in the forearms that was too exaggerated. The arms were slightly too short. Using transpose master I pulled the mesh and all its associated subtools around a bit.

Can’t wait to see more
Face is fuller. The torso has been refined and become broader. The chest has been softened to raise the impression of adolescence. Hard modeling on the shoes, gun and trousers. Clothing refinements done in 3dsmax and the gun in zbrush with clipping brushes and shadowbox.

About 20 subtools for the gun, some of them have been merged. The shoes and trousers were retopoed in 3dsmax using the concept zbrush meshes. The gun is all zbrush.
The head looks like the mandible is a pretty small. It makes him look younger than his body would suggest.
Yeah the face isnt there yet at all. Just made the correction you suggested and crashed zbrush just like a real expert Am doing them again! Thanks for the direction.

Waiting for the new ZB4R2, for making the bird it will be a blast!
Face and hair have changed, eyes closer together, muzzle broader, work on the arms, trousers, pouches, codpiece and the addition of goggles to control the robobird.
Cheers for now.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the tips.
Two Listen, thanks, yeah perhaps. I like the lines they make that run along the muscles there, will keep an eye on it. Thanks for the advice.
A bit of an update. New flack jacket, a new arm controller for the robot bird, and helmet.
Cheers!
coots7 Yeah it need the serratus re-positioned now you say it. Yes at the end perfect symmetry will be dropped. Thanks.
Jungsik Thanks

makecg Thanks!
i see a gun, i usually expect to see some sort of armour to go along with it, but this guy has a freaking monstrous bird and looks like he runs the show George of the jungle style, so my suggestion is rethink the gun ; )
Blocking in the mech bird. Zokana over at cgtalk sugg
ested a mech would go better than an org with the image. Also Andrewty07 (cgtalk) suggested putting the bird on the character's back.
I though that might be too NOX but it is a real nice image. What do you guys think?
CandyStripes05 over at polycount was responsible for the crossbow idea. (thanks ).
The first one was a quicky and animated but I think number 02 looks a little less normal. I thought it would be nice to also show the ugly sketch stages as well, as the ideas I have been getting from you all have been amazing. As always all suggestions gratefully received.
Cheerio.
honestly expecting thread to have a kid with wings but this is cool too
n88tr thanks! Yeah that might still happen!
