Cockroach Character + Hand painted texture practice

First of all I'm not really a character artist and this is my 2nd 3d character.

I did this character for a short animation school project. We are planning to use CE3 sdk for rendering but I'm having problem importing skeletal animations :(

I need crits/comments especially for the textures because I believe that it is my weakness and I need to improve.

I've exaggerated the hairy parts of the legs and turned it into spikes :D

Programs used:

3ds max 2012
Photoshop CS4
Zbrush 4
Mudbox

I used mudbox to paint textures directly to the mesh because I find it easier compared to painting textures inside photoshop.

I learned many things from this project especially painting textures by hand without using photosource images.
