Personally I'd be quite happy to see a blanket ban on them. The threads that consist of 5 pages or people dog piling on one member for making an excessively whiny thread aren't really a great loss.

HA...I was just thinkintg this. I don't mind the odd cat pic. I do it myself. But there are some PC'ers that put an image in >50% of their posts. You know who you are...

Make this into the official image macro thread. I've seen it happen on a couple of other forums and it's worked well to curb the huge number of them that are posted in other threads.
I work at a family oriented company so it's a problem that any cool art or news thread could potentially be turned into a NSFW thread by a picture of a cartoon man covered in semen.
It didn't used to be a problem but there's been an influx of people with no self control.
