Heya
We're going to remove the need for first-post moderation for a while and see how we get treated by spammers. If it gets out of hand, we'll go back to moderating firsts posts but if it goes well then we'll keep it off.
I'd like to ask for some help: If you see a spam post, can you please report it to us?
Reporting spam when you see it will decrease the amount of spam we miss/let slip for a while.
Thank you !

I did unspeakable things to get my first post on this board, and now you let them walk right in? Pff... the youth now a days. :P
I believe the mods will be sent a PM and/or email.

Im sure looking at every single first post is no walk in the park, but hell. Does your setup give you a listing and a preview of the first few words? That to me would be enough to spot suspect right away.
What I have to do now? Order members from join date with latest first. Then I have to see post count, and even worse, those damn bots that just make accounts to fill out the url of their member page for search engines. 80% of my banned IPs come from those.. (Yes I do go to the trouble of deleting those members even if the spam they do is passive)
Dood that's a good point. what ever happen to the asking for approval for the first post?
As long as there are people in different time zones to delete offending posts then there is little to no difference in it as far as the end user is concerned but as mods go it's about 5% of the work which frees them up to organise and run nice comps :P
How is this spam?!
multiply
black
spread
size
BAM!
Make that Shit POP!
BAM! BAM! BAM!
How many people have reported this one thread so far? :-P
Each time you report spam, it gives you a minute's worth of cooldown until you're able to report the next.
Is there any way around this, or any way you can rethink this? Maybe only only a 20 second cool down, perhaps?
Sorry we will get that taken care of.
