Anyone else watching? Each season has been getting better and better. But wow.. This newest one with people living forever and the conspiracy behind it is just brilliant. I'm sure there are a few die hards that don't like the criss-cross Atlantic production and new cast. I admit when I heard Starz was getting in on it, I had some trepidation. But is this new season breaking down your reluctance?

It's pretty good, first episode was pretty poor but it upped its game as it went along.

I started watching this after I finished all the newer Doctor Who episodes... But after five episodes I gave up. It was kind of boring and the characters were really unlikeable. Does it get better?

Yep, loyal Torchwood watcher myself :) Nice to see they moved to Starz - the budget is significantly higher it seems. This whole season has been pretty slick so far, I'm enjoying it.

Yes. Season 2.5 to 3 is a good place to pickup. They get into more complex multi show or even season themes. Versus filler shows.

ive been trying to finish all of Dr.Who before I get into torchwood.

but when I was visiting my folks last week I happened to watch a bit of a episode of torchwood...I never had seen anything mind you about the show before this I just knew it was a spin off of dr.who

so I figured it would be more fighting aliens and crap and the "what the doctor did , resulted in this on earth" kinda feel to it...

instead the random episode I watched, I saw a Butt sex scene with Captain Jack (who I thought was bi-sexual interdemineal spieces lover) But in the show he was a hard core homosexual who only liked men? And non stop cursing?

I really wasnt sure what was going on since Dr who was such a more tamed, witty based show that never had such adult themes as this..

Im a bit relcutant to watch it after seeing that 10 minutes of it...I really didnt feel it had that same Charm as Dr Who did...

Am I being a bit to over analyzing of the show and not giving it a chance?

Thats exactly how I felt, Seforin. I watched the first grip of episodes and the show just didn't have the charm and cleverness to it that Doctor Who did. I'm about as pervy and crude as the next dude, but I feel it's just awkward for how Raunchy the show is if it's in the Doctor Who universe.

After the first season that sorta stops happening, its like they find a plot line to go on ;'D
The newest season seems to be quite a heavy hitter, the plot so far has kept me intrested so heres hoping they pull off the ending!

(also figured out the modules stright away ;D )

Seforin - In Britain, Dr. Who is considered an all ages show while Torchwood is definitely aimed more at a more mature audience. While they have never shyed away from Captain Jack being bi-sexual he is apparently more of a hardline gay in the new Starz season. It was kind of odd to see since he was kind of all over the place before. Also, some scenes will be different depending on if you're watching the UK or US version.

ErichWK - The show gets much better as it goes on. My wife was really into the beginning and I had a hard time following it. After it got into the second season though I found myself wandering into the living room to watch it with her and couldn't tear myself away by the end of it.

yeah I remember the first season being like wtf this sucks then it slowly got better. Quick question to those who watch the current season, how does the timeline work in relation to the current Doctor Who or are they totally separate now.

I think when they went with starz, the whole Dr. Who reference was dropped. So I dont expect any more references to show up in either show.

Like Ponds parents wont be talking about this time period. While Jack and Co. wont be referencing directly any of the Dr's events.

Think if it as they started morphed into their own universes at the End of Season 2, and finished with the start of Season 4.

    Great finale.
Glad they killed Ester, she wasn't that great an actor. Moreover making Rex another immortal? YES!

Hope we see a season 5.
