This isn't DOA, I promise. My concept drawings are just way too bad to post. I've modelled his Noh mask mostly, will post soon. In the meantime, have a flower. Drawn in Flash, will be used for his tattoos. Will be altered and stamped all over his body.
don't think tattoos are suitable, tbh, they carry a negative meaning in japan and are often associated with criminals.
He's ex-yakuza Plus having him covered in tattoos will make for a more visually interesting final piece hopefully. Also, the Japanese are coming around to the ideas of tattoos cause of western visitors.
Still working on this, when I have the time. Finished the sword high-poly.
Why not? Vectors are scalable, and it's the only vector program I know, coming from an animation background.
ehm adobe illustrator or corel draw can do SVGs afaik. flash has just not that many functions for drawing i think.... but why do you want SVGs at all? you cant do shading and those nice things with vectors :P

I don't know Illustrator. But I do know Flash. Japanese tattoos are quite graphic as well, so less shading is used. Some is, in fairness, and that's represented in the petals of the flower. Didnt use gradients on the leaves in an effort to make the petals 'pop'.
I'm running behind on this, modelling the base mesh took so long, but here is a blockout finally. Sculpting now.

Here's Japanese Spidey for some more inspiration.

On a side note why does Spiderman have a Zoid? lol..
But on subject, I can't wait to see your progress on this as it seems very interesting.
