Hi everybody. C&C appreciated on all things. Right now I'm trying to work on color when it comes to my 2D, and my 3D I'm just trying to get back in the groove I guess. I'm also pretty bad with texturing, so any paintovers of untextured models or tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.
This is pretty cool, man! Good eye for value. I'd like to see a finished concept of that robot, he has a cool retro look to him.
A suggestion for those studies: Simplify your shading, just pick three of four shades and paint them with 100% opacity.
You're making it harder on yourself and hurting the quality of your work by layering transparent strokes like that -- pretty much any three dimensional object can be logically and realistically broken down into three shades plus a little bounced light.
Thanks for the advice. I'll give that a shot next time; I didn't realize I got a reply to this thread.
In the meantime, one of the many things I've been drawing and the only thing that I've uploaded -_- I really need to catch up. There will be a sketch dump eventually, once school stops beating me with it's work stick.

Pilot concept.
Guy in his study.
