Out of curiosity what method did you use to make the holes, as a bit of a beginner I have had trouble producing nice clean holes
It depends on the surface I'm working on really. Sometimes I use a cylinder and invert it then build around it. Other times I use a cylinder, if I need a visibly perfect circle, as the shape of reference and add edge loops to the base mesh; alining it with the edges of the cylinders. I tend to use the latter on angled surfaces while the former for strictly vertical or horizontal. There's also Boolean cutouts after I collapse a turbosmooth, but I only use that on an oddly curved surface that I could not use bend for.
You see so many guns flooded on everyone's portfolios it's really refreshing to get a new take on it. I used to love taking my paint ball gun apart to examine all its parts.
Fixed up the bottom half of the gun a bit and added a few things. Still need to finish the area where the barrel meets the bolt assembly, but it's late and I'll do it tomorrow.
I haven't been at my computer the past 2 days, so I left it on to do something productive. I've noticed I haven't posted a picture of the gun assembled so far, so I let my comp render a video of the gun being assembled.
Spend the day fixing proportions (pain in the ass with selections) and shit as well as get the magazine finish (and started the handle but not pictured). I'd like a request of references of the bolt assembly if anyone has that onhand.
The magazine was actually more difficult than I anticipated. Took a while to get a proportion that allowed exactly 10 rounds to fit in it.
Also a new render setup that obtain the same objective in less time
wireframe, if anyone was interested.
i'm not totally sure but are the bullets in ur magazine one left and one right (sorry i cannot explain it better than this ) or are they all in the same column? i think the correct position would be the first one...anyway...this model is sick!
Models looking good, besides the magazine issue that some of the other guys pointed out. Keep up the good work, I'm looking forward to this bad boy finished lol.
