Responsibilities: - Work with Art Director and other artists to ensure consistency between vision and implementation of environment assets.
- Work within inter-disciplinary teams of Artists, Level Artists and Designers
- Supervise and mentor Junior Artists on the team.
- Provide and accept direction.
- Ensure that all aspects of art production are completed on a timely basis to a high standard.
- Understand and follow style guides to guarantee the consistency of the game.
- Explore new technologies on the given platforms to achieve best possible results.
- Work together with our Research and Development department to improve workflow.
- Coordinate with other studio groups including animation and production to achieve project objectives.
- Complete all tasks in a timely manner and to a consistent high quality standard.
- Demonstrate a desire to learn and grow professionally.
Requirements:- Minimum of 1 shipped AAA title on next gen consoles (PS3; Xbox 360).
- Good communication skills and a great team-player attitude.
- Strong knowledge of 3dsmax and Photoshop.
- Strong passion for making the highest quality state of the art games.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Established interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Expert understanding of current game environment development processes, limitations and dependencies.
- Ability to deliver and receive constructive feedback.
- A portfolio or reel that demonstrates the following:
- Strong artistic background
- Heavy focus on photorealistic art, environments level design and lighting
- Clear understanding of the normal map creation process
- Strong ability to create photorealistic high poly models
- Clear understanding of efficient UV layout for low poly objects
- Keen eye for detail and realism
- Strong texturing skills
- Willing to relocate to Frankfurt, Germany.
Preferences: - Ability to contribute innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of game production and development.
- A very strong understanding of technical limitations of game engines and console platforms.
- Working knowledge of CryEngine and the according toolset.
- Strong communicator, able to easily present ideas and information to the team.
- Experience in agile development environments.
