I am going to go right out and say it, Catherine is going down as one of my all time favorite gaming experiences. The puzzle sections while hard were very rewarding but that is not the main reason I am never going to forget this game. The plot covers things I have never seen another game even think of going near. While the main plot is very good and very bold, I really enjoyed all of the stories of the NPC's in the bar. Just being able to walk around and talk to them really draws you into the experience, it got to the point were I would try and rush though the puzzle sections of the game just to get to the next story section.
I know some people may be put off because the art style is anime or because they have heard this is a very hard game but I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a new experience.
So what does polycount think of this unexpected gem?

ZacD must be attending Hboywen's school of English.
Bummer. Just when I have nothing to play and made up with anime.

You should check out Persona4, its the same teams previous game and has one of the best stories I've seen in a game with a lot of depth to the characters.
I was actually wanting to do that, Catherine has sparke a my interest in their other games. I heard it is pretty hard to fine though.
Amazon still sells it: [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Persona-Playstation-2/dp/B001C6GVI6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312075041&sr=8-1[/ame]

Notice the one that says "press any key to continue"
It may just be the pc version they debug on but ehhhh a guy can dream.
Any opinions about the dub? Is it any better than the one in P3 and P4?
completely different type of game though! J-RPG through and through, just saying.
P4 is rather lighthearted btw, P3 has a more serious undertone. both are great.
this catherine doesn't do much for me though, the climbing parts look seriously frustrating to me. i can'T believe that's all there is to this title.
thomasp: It's exactly like every other Atlus game, inner struggles sprinkled with humor, heavy euphemism for sexuality and exploration, side-quests leading into the silly, certain parts where you get to choose different path, ability to pick stuff at certain hours of the day or chat with people at said hours.
Only difference to other games, is, instead of waiting your turn to whack a mole, you simply have to climb.
