ImagineFX Rise of the Stars Challenge

Howdy folks,

I posted a few of these in the WAYWO thread, but figured I'd post them here now that all three are out there.

This is for the Imagine FX Rise of the Stars challenge going on.

Rules are pretty simple, send in 3-5 images and be age 25 or under. It's just a general portfolio kind of thing. Top 10 picks get put in the magazine.

I'm not going for a specific theme, just creating some random shiz for the fun of it for the sake of seeing if I got a shot, since my website is outdated since I started work.

If anything sticks out like a sore thumb and is blatantly terrible, let me know. These need to be submitted by the end of the month, so I have a few days to make some last minute corrections.

Got a couple updates on them, just pushing shapes / color to try to add depth, interest, and focal points. Still have about 3 more days before I'm going to send them in.

Every time I pick up a magazine from the store, they have a section called FXpose, where they show 3-6 pieces produced by an individual who sent them in, give him/her some critique, and do a short biography of him/her. they have 5-6 people featured in this way in each magazine. I don't really see much of a difference

I see what you're saying. This is probably pretty similar. They have it happen once a year, so it's a little different, but probably not by much. Still, it'd be cool to be in the mag.

Im pretty sure having your work published in any certified mag, is pretty dam good.

Congratulations on your skills. I've downloaded them because it's really "nutritive" to look at'em. In fact looking at them makes me see how much of managing colors and lights I won't know. But theres no problem with that, I'm just an amateur . I hope they chose your work. Good luck and good paintings!

Their magazine says 3-5 submissions, but their website says 5. I read the official rules and it says nothing about being disqualified for less than 5.

Regardless, they wanted a photo and I decided to just polish up my old self-portrait painting and use that as my photo.

Hell, it counts as another painting, right?

I guess that makes it 4.
