Is this possible in Maya, I'd like to select a couple verts and scale them along x by a specific amount. Can't think of how I could do this except by setting the scale tool to snap to that exact increment. Would be great if you could just type in a value when any of the tools were active.
Apologies for the necro, I came across this while googling for help, here is the solution in case someone else comes across it... In the modeling toolkit if you scroll down there is a scale settings section, you can use the XYZ section to specify an exact scale value to apply as well as how you wish to apply it (world space, object etc).

if you're looking to scale in object space you could use the scale mel command to do that for you.
