For fun I'm making Garrus from Mass Effect in a low poly version under 1,500 tris. Currently he and the sniper rifle are sitting at 1,440 tris and I might add some more as needed.
Currently unwrapping and going to go the hand painted route.

Make Garrus proud
I'm not much of a character guy, but I can see Garrus' delicious figure, so you're on your way! Solid work, I'm interested in your hand painting as well.

Bigger pictures please
Endfinity Jon - I got rid of a couple tris in the rifle including the one you pointed out right now it is at 324 tris total.
butt_sahib - fixed this... just forgot to tell imageshack to not resize my image
gilesruscoe - I was planning on it if I can get it done in time and I'm basing my restrictions on that contest. I just want to do it more for fun because deadline or not I'd like to finish something and have it look really nice.
Texture Progress:
I haven't touched on all areas but It's getting there. I normally paint with color first but I'm starting this one out in grey-scale so I can focus on lighting and the materials a bit more to see how it all works out.
Comments and crits are always appreciated!
Color progress! I personally feel like his suit is a little too blue for the time being but if anybody else has any other opinion I'd be glad to hear it. Also I did the grey scale for the gun and overall I think I can tighten the texture details a bit further on both models.
Critiques and Comments always appreciated!
I don't quite like the color variation, as well as its lightness, Garrus' armor in-game was in black and dark blue.
Lol I agree, In the first 2 games he was sporting the black and blue scheme but I'm trying to go towards the Mass effect 3 suit:
With some artistic liberties, but even so you're right it is too light and blue parts are still too blue and it still needs adjusting...

I think I'm getting close to calling the texture done, I worked out most of the blackish areas and toned down a lot of the lightness on the suit, so thanks to the people who pointed those out. I kind of like the way the suit is right now instead of his standard blue/black one but if people have any other opinions on that I'd be glad to hear them. I feel like the gun might need a bit more work.
He still needs to be rigged and I am probably going to be working on that next.
Here he is in all his glory, Doing your calibrations, popping the heat sink and stealing all the ladies.
Even though I'm technically considering this finished, I'm still open to critiques and suggestions people may have.
