Some brushes aren't working for me in Sculptris. Smooth, draw and flatten won't respond no matter what I try. I uninstalled Sculptris, and reinstalled it, nothing.
The detail part of the brushes seem to be working but thats it I have messed with the other two sliders and nothing happens; it looks like the verts are locked to the existing silhouette of the mesh or something...
What alpha version are you using? When you start a new scene with the default sphere does that still happen? Try reinstalling sculptris in a different location(directory). Try opening your sculpt file with a different version like Alpha5 or Alpha6(depending on what ver of sculptris you have) and see if it changes anything. Just a few ideas...
I downloaded alpha 5, and the buttons work as they should. But alpha 6 is still not working, second reinstal now...Hmmmm... when it boots up the sphere is automatically in wireframe mode; maybe I have accidentaly saved some weird settings? Any way to wipe them? Where in the directory would I do that.
Did the buttons work the first time you installed Sculptris alpha6 on your system? Or did at one point after using sculptris they stopped working? The setting-sculpt.dat can be deleted, I think sculptris will make a new one. Delete the setting-global.dat 2. Let me know if it works. BTW are you using a tablet?
FWIW I had this issue, but a different cause, happen to me during a recent sculpt. Working in some fine detail areas suddenly my brushes would stop doing anything after a crease and or some undo's.
Thankfully restarting sculptris fixed it, but it made me think of this thread.
