Hey, if you don't know me already, I'm an environment artist looking for some sort of fun side project that isn't an overly ambitious multi-year project or a commercial game that's just looking for free art. Here's my 2 year old portfolio link

I've worked on various mods and whatnot since '98 so I've had enough experience with overly ambitious soul crushing projects - even Super Meat Boy took 2 years, so I'm not interested in dedicating all my free time into a super ambitious project that will most likely fizzle out in 3-4 years. If it's a commercial game I would have to charge freelance rates and I'm not really looking for a second job right now.

I do stylized handpainted stuff, my warhammer art has a bit of grit to it but I'd much rather go into the whimsical stylized range than gritty grimdark. I'm an environment artist as well, I could probably do characters but don't expect it to deform properly when animating.

So if I haven't scared everyone away, feel free to post below or PM me. No emails please, that's for paid work only.

    Hi Justin,

    Dark Future project is searching for environment artists but is an ambitious project that will take a lot of time, but at the same time we don't have deadlines, all the guys work when they can.
    If you are interested in working in a futuristic FPS\RPG contact me.
    You can do only one island if you don't want to loose a lot of time with the project, even only one Island could help us a lot.

    Hi Justin, I think my post looking for 3D artists is everything you didn't want LOL, but I invite you to read it and perhaps there's an idea of doing something different in there somewhere that may interest you. I have one artist on board, and another interested. I work fast (a few years back I had my own 3D engine up in 2 weeks with a true model of the solar system in real time, real stars, and a ship to fly with). This will be done in a proven MMOG system called Hero Cloud (see Star Wars game by Bioware). I know what it takes to make an addictive and re-playable game, so I will not fizzle any time soon, if at all. At the moment I'm trying to make it free to play (non-commercial for the most part) with possible in game purchases (most likely), or subscriptions when past a certain experience level, but I'm not sure how to model the in-game credit system with the Hero Cloud system yet, so just being honest about that (I want to let everyone have fun, and still afford to pay artists to keep it going).
