(the thread title isn't a statement of concept by the way, its just the first thing that popped into my head based on what i drew just now)
anyway, so i stopped drawing stuff years ago. Work-style 3D and photoshoppery totally got in the way. So thinking i better give the intuos a pixel workout i started bottom-left and just kept going. Thought i'd share. Currently in the top right, where i have no idea whats going on but its appears to be growing a leathery skin and brickwork, which should be fun. Will update in a while.
Pic is 1-for-1, apologies. Its also determinedly ortho. That came from drawing similar stuff for platform games ages back, would like to think about little characters bouncing around on and in it, with subtle animations in the level itself

If it were me, I'd make the tree on the left curve to the left rather than the right (ie. flip it horizontally). Right now both trees have a very similar curvature and feels a bit wrong. Still cool nevertheless.

I don't think I caught mention of this being done in 3D...will it be? No worries if it won't be but damn this would be awesome in 3D. Maybe done in a LittleBigPlanet/Loco Roco perspective or something. Those were the things that popped up into my head when I saw this drawing.
Other than though, this is very interesting! Didn't get to see the first picture though to see how it evolved.
frell - its just photoshop and a little sharp brush.
t'others - cheers. Will try and finish it when i get home if i don't get shouted at for being 'on that bloody computer again'
I want to play a game with your image as background... :poly124:
regardless, there's a lot of other 'movement' in your drawing. The right side feels particularly alien and mysterious.
