Hello,
I'd like a brief moment too introduce myself too the community. And I'd like to express my gratitude to be amongst such talented artists. And such a fun community.
Also, below I'l post 2 small projects I'm currently working on in my spare/free time. Feedback, tips, or criticism would be greatly appreciated.
My name is Bas Vegter, I'm 22 and currently I reside in Holland. I rolled into 3D almost by accident. After not knowing what to do, I ended up working with 3D Studio Max for certain study projects. And I liked it. A passion of mine is games, next to movies and diving. And there for I currently study game design. Where I generally work as an 3D artist. Environment, props, character design, etc.
During my time at my current study I've built up my portfolio, if interested here is the link. Feedback here would also be appreciated.

(Futuristic) Spaceship Alien thingy
This is something I made in my spare time, made a quick sketch and colored it in to get an general idea of where I wanted to go. Then I basicly started box modeling and went on from there. Still W.I.P. obviously. I feel like the wings, and the front part still needs some work.
The idea behind this model is that it is for my portfolio, not for lets say an Iphone game. So the poly count is around 3/3.5 k optimized. With every poly contributing too an curve or shape.
Realistic (HP) fabric birdy toy
I want too learn how to create realistic fabric materials, with normal, spec maps. So I quickly modelled the bird and I am going to work on getting it too look as realistic as the photograph. (proportions aren't completely correct and its definatly W.I.P. as well)
If anyone happens to have some tips on how too handle the workflow for something like this, it would be greatly appreciated as well.
Anyways, thanks for reading!
And uhm, it's kinda late (gosh a no-life first impression)
So yeah, i'm off too bed!
