I am going to try and produce this Character in lowish poly utilizing current tech. I want to have a posed render of her taken from Marmoset at the end.
I've used Normal maps before, but I've never baked them from a high to low poly in regard to Characters before. So I hope to use xNormal and learn a lot from this. Here is the concept :
I started with the head model, this is where I am currently. The style is influenced by Sintel, from the short 'Sintel'.

Started blocking in the body today, wish I had got more done over the weekend but I was sick The head's not working in conjunction with the body right now though, need to figure that out. Any ideas?

The geo on the face could be more evenly spaced. There are some long rectangles and some faces are much bigger than other ones.
Her hands look a little too big and her neck is short. And I agree with n88tr that the width of her hips doesn't really seem to match the rest of the design.
Keep working on this! It has lots of potential.

maybe make the cap a bit thicker and relax the edges a bit more
Also curving the flap a bit would give it some extra dimension
What edges do you think I should relax exactly?
maybe you could also curve the sides a bit, they seem to be going in a straight line towards the back when i look at the picture where she's wearing it.
Fred2303 mentioned earlier about the ears needing work; he is right, i've still not gotten around to that yet though. In time.
