Rearden Companies developing new form of wireless network
So apparently, the founder of OnLive, Mr. Steve Perlman, has another start-up company called Rearden Companies. And this start-up is developing, and has already patented, a new type of wireless network technology that may be able to replace modern cell technology. If they are able to achieve even a small fraction of what they claim, they will be able to hand current cell systems their asses on a platter.
The new technology apparently bypasses the current limits on wireless speeds, bandwidth restrictions, and size. The hubs for this system will be significantly smaller than current cell phone towers, with a respectable radius. The speeds they are describing are way, way beyond what is currently possible. And perhaps most significantly, bandwidth restrictions would be effectively eliminated.
It sounds too good to be true, and perhaps it is. But this is coming from the same man who backed OnLive, another pipe-dream that seemed too good. (and which is currently up and running, and delivering on its initial promises) Moreover, the description of this tech would shore up the current limitations of OnLive, and would help to bring OnLive to a much broader market.

Some kind of distributed technology.
