[WIP] PKM

Hey guys.
I'm new here so i'm gonna give a short intro. I'm a hard-surface modeler and I mostly make guns. I usually lurk around at crymod (m1911 is released and hk416 is being animated).

Anyways, I'm now making a PKM. I started on the mag box. It's mostly done, just need to add some details and change some porportions. I guess most of the little details will be added in the normal-map later on.

I'd say soften the edges of your high poly a lot so they transfer better into the normals.

I would block out the proportions, volumes and profiles of the whole weapon before you start detailing parts like this.

Got some more basic shapes down. And because the refs of my mag sucked i'm changing that. But more updates on that later.

I was organizing my assets folder and I came across this. I forgot all about it but now that I have some time to work on other things I will try to finish this. I might even texture this since I want to learn to do that sometime (though it might be better to try to texture something simpler first). Anyway this is what I have from where I left of:

Man, this is some sick stuff! I've always wanted to work on a PKM, but i've never a good volume of reference to work from. DeicideNBF's pixagogo channel is pretty good, I'm sure you know of it, but it doesn't have the immense detail you've put into this!

Unfortunately I'm not able to work on this on a regular basis so it's taking quite a while for me to finish this. So I'm sorry for everyone that is eagerly awaiting the completion of this model. Anyways here's where I'm at now. The high poly is nearly done I think.
