Soldier, gun and Binoculars =)

this is a character i worked on a while back just for fun. also gave him a gun. thought about finishing him so I started working on some binoculars for him today. im gonna try to pose him som day if i get the transpose tool to work with me^^. feedback always welcomed! mainly on the binos since that is what i wokring on atm=)

Your character already looks great, I agree about the headphones though.

Also it seems like some (not all) of the edges on that gun are a little bit too tight, the ones on the scope mount look fine but the edges at the flip sight and the stock look a little bit too tight, especially when viewed from a bit farther.

I like it so far. I think the folds from the back look a little off though. The ones coming from the butt area. Right now you have it pinched up and I think that gives it a false indication of tension.

Nice texturing work, is that a detail normal map on the handle parts of the binos?

thanks guys. no detail map, made it as a first person binocular thing so the etxture is pretty big, 2k x 1k. works pretty well with 1k x 512 aswell.. heres a final render i think, starting on something new=)

hey man, any workflow on how u made those shoes? i am trying to make some shoes of my own but have no idea were to even start lol...

Great work so far, but you could use more for him. Could probably use a water carrier on his back and a radio that the headset plugs into. Is he supposed to be a sniper? if so put a leopolde Mk4 M3A or some high powered scope and some bipods on the 14. If not then leave as is or put some reflex sight on it. You could also add some velcro in there on the arms under the patches since that is very popular these days. Dress it up a little more and make him more believable. Solid work so far!

oh, have forgotten about this thread. Cool you like it, though i wont be doing anything more on him since im rockin around with other stuff atm. maybe i give him a huge makeover in the future, but we will see about that=)
