hey, i've been lurking about these forums for a while and i've decided to finally register because i'm having a modeling problem. i'm a blender user starting to use zbrush in order to add extra detail to my models that would take longer to do with polymodeling.
just a few days ago, i started a project modeling the "performance center" version of the smith and wesson 500 revolver. i created the general shape of things and i'm ready to sculpt in extra things. i exported the cylinder from blender to zbrush so that i can create the chambers and other details. i've looked all over the internet and the one thing i found that will create holes only creates oval-shaped holes instead of circular holes.
what i'm doing is i draw a mask with radial symmetry, then i invert the mask. after i do that, i extract the newly masked portion of the object as a separate tool. however, like i said, the chambers created are ovals instead of circles.
i'm hoping someone on here can help me, because i've pretty much stayed away from modeling revolvers because of the cylinder.
for anyone who's wondering, i do plan on importing the rest of my model into zbrush to add other details. i just want to get the cylinder done first so that i know how to do it in the future.
