the model looks great! the lighting and background colour on this http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/9877/mantis052.jpg looks better than the current pics in my opinion, the current brown background colour is just a bit too overpowering. would love to see how you managed to use ndo2 on this so well.

i start in photoshop to create 2 groups on the entire uv shell
a paint texture
and a metal texture
I use a tiled scracthes photosourced for create a mask between the 2
an I start to paint well placed scrathes with a simple tweaked brush
and My photoshop base for NDO2 ,turned in normal ,AO and curvature
nothing fancy ,I hope can help
