Awesome shield. Hopefully Bethesda takes a more novel approach to some of their items like this in Skyrim compared to the fairly generic shields/armor in Oblivion. Did you base this off of a concept or were you just sketching in ZBrush?

I thought an indie company was making skyrim and bethesda was publishing it? Bethesdas working on Fallout 4. The skyrim engine is theirs though, so expect better graphics in F4.

Great shield dude
As far as I'm aware Skyrim isn't being done by an indie company. I've never heard anything like that. Are you sure you're not thinking about Fallout: New Vegas?

All the information about the games were published in some article or wiki I read a few weeks ago. Skyrim is using Bethesdas new inhouse created engine, and said engine is also being used on Bethesdas "current" project, which is obviously Fallout 4.
They did the same thing with NV, obsidian used bethesdas engine (gamebryo at the time) to create new vegas and then bethesda published it.
They seem to be reaching out alot more nowadays
I can no longer find any evidence to support this so its possible the information was a lie. But bethesda is still working on an undercover project
thats really wicked man! awesome concept, love the functionality pieces like the iron at the bottom and on the horns, the 5 sided nails are a nice touch too, some serious thought put into this piece, and it shows :thumbup:
Really awesome sculpting man! I think the silhouette is weak on certain angles though. Would be nice to see you push the shape a bit more and some asymmetry would look baddass! Great work though man keep it up
Sorry for long time without answering, but I was on holidays.
Zipfinator: Thnx. First I painted really fast sketch in ps and then I started to sculpt...but it was terrible... so the second approach (current model) was made all in zbrush.
MeintevdS: Here is my initial sketch from ps. It is only idea, coz almost whole model was reorganized during the sculpt.
uncle: yup. There was no time to finish back. skylebones: thnx. robin_64_bit: thnx. Someday I'll make textures, but for now only Lp + Normal +Ao. frell: Thnx Dan!: Thnx. OtrickP: Thnx for nice words. g2000 : Thnx. Massbot : Thnx [HP]: Thnx Maph: You are right. I didn't noticed it before. woogity : Thnx mr_ace: Thnx binopittan: It's hard to see now, but when textures will be ready, eyes will be artificial. Some kind of glass sphere. It should look ok imo.
X-Convict: Thnx SeanEG: Thnx XXXTHECHAD: Thnx
I'm not really satisfied with the end result due to lack of time.
I always wonder how you guys get away with making refined stripes around the objects in zbrush. Do you use Zbrush topology tool, 3d program face extraction, or Topogun. =\

Are you gonna make a lowpoly for it too?
