you're edges are way too sharp and wouldn't translate well at all into your normal map. As far as the design of it, nothing is striking me as super cool or interesting to look at. Start sketching and see what starts to feel right. Post here and others can help you decide! Keep going, you know how to model, just gotta push on the rest of it.
You are of pretty much everywhere. That is if you are aiming to match the concept. Like all the round nice shapes is gone. You've missed a big chunk on top and so on.. Put them next to each other and compare..
i wouldnt bother concerning yourself with understanding modeling for normal maps until you can replicate a concept more accurately. The shapes are quite different in the concept to your model.
Take a look (don't mind the wires I know they suck). I'm pretty sure the shapin' is more accurate than yours. I think you can inspire yourself on how to work those shapes for your project.
You've taken a concept and removed everything that was cool about it and sort of bastardized it. This is the cardinal sin of modeling, if you're going to change a concept, always make sure you're making positive changes, not making it worse just for the sake of changing it.

You're completely missing the rounded chunky style.
Thanks again.

Think I am going to throw out what I have and pay a lot more attention to the edges etc this time around and follow the concept much better.
