3D Max crashing a lot since i am using the onboard card

Hey guys, two months or three ago my video card passed away 
, and as i am not able to buy a new one anytime soon i tryied to run max with my onboard video card, an intel X4500 onbaord card(can run games pretty nice, butstill its an onbaord one)
Problem is that max started crashing a lot of times now, making it impossible to work with, i have already updated the video card drivers dozens of times and problem is still there. do you think this has a solution apart from getting a new video card?
