Played through it and finished it... and it's getting a "don't buy" recommendation from me.

The visuals are outstanding, the destruction's a blast... but they took an open world game with a great story and crammed it into a hallway shooter / Call of Duty clone. All the artists deserver a pat on the back, all the designers deserve a slap on the face.

The purchasable upgrades are so paced that you may as well make them in-game drops (like the weapons are... for shame). After about five minutes of gameplay, there was absolutely no need to carry the sledgehammer around any more. The magnet gun is awesome, and with unlimited ammo and great range, what point is there for the sledgehammer?
The 'final boss' battle was a joke, this thing's supposed to be the big beastie and I finished her off with a few missile rounds, just stayed hiding behind a pillar most of the battle. Also, shoot your writers for falling on their faces.. you have the black dude just stay behind for no reason, and then let the love interest get killed off because you had no way of accounting for her for your final battles.

I unlocked Mr. Toots, and there's not enough fun left in the game (already) for me to want to play through it again. Even the "Challenge Mode" setup feels weak and extremely limited. Maybe I'll give the MP a try, but I'm not holding my breath on that.
