I kind of wonder why the crab walked around though. I'm sure this was just a test or something, but if the crab had an actual objective then it would be more interesting. It's also walking continuously without really changing speeds which probably makes it convenient for copying and pasting keys, but again it could be more interesting with more variation.
Many Many thanks for comments.
Please watch Crab Running and Walking Sideway
Thanks for video reference. It helped me a lot.
Please watch this in HD. Background is to be changed. Please just see walk and run.
Every object and surface in this video is moving, and yet nothing is really happening. It would be a lot more interesting with some sort of story. If they were chasing a fish, trying to climb over a rock . . . anything really.
The first thing that stands out to me is the background. Mostly, it's because the image plane you are using is bright, the animation repeatedly pops and the texture is obviously mirrored. Even a blueish gradient would serve the scene much better.
All of the plants are throbbing seemingly randomly, not with the water's current. Some of them look extremely phallic and some of them intersect with each other and the ground.
The slow, short one looks like its legs are stuck together.
The first part of the scene looks like they are dancing in unison because their animations are almost identical, and then they cover their faces at the very end. Is this actually supposed to be some sort of dance performance? The layout looks like a highschool drama production and the scene is on the ocean floor yet lit by spotlights.

Other than that, not half bad. Though, as mentioned, you'd imagine a cartoony, 'stereotypical' idea of a crab as walking sideways.

Perhaps make them a tad slower interms of movement...
Most real crabs walk rather slowly
