Celluloid - Wordpress theme for artists (WIP)

I got the bones together for an folio-centric Wordpress theme over the weekend, inspired by an iPad presentation I had to put together recently. It's pretty much non-standard, so before I start ripping up the static HTML and working in all the PHP hooks, just thought I'd get some thoughts from you guys on how to improve the user experience. Don't want it to be a pain to use for art directors browsing through.. 
*ps I used a lot of old throwaway art for placeholders.

My current wishlist:
-Proper display in IE/Opera (only works as designed in Chrome/Safari/Firefox at the moment)
-Support for collections/categories of drawings/book chapters, etc.
-Keyboard shortcuts: left/right to navigate and spacebar to bring up a contact sheet
-Filmstrip navigation that doesn't require the scrollbar
-Cut out the weird behavior when resizing the window (will probably be fixed automatically when I switch over to every image sitting in its own page)
