Hope the ZOE2 port is based on the Special Edition version sense that had a bunch of extra content. From Wikipedia:
"The "Special Edition" PAL and NTSC-J versions of the game featured a variety of additions and extras to the game, including new VR Training options, added scenarios, more difficulties, and new Orbital Frames for Versus Mode, among other improvements to the game."
that tiny amount of fox stuff blew my mind. Can't remember seeing anything that quite had this look and feel about it. I'm totally intrgued. Usually you can pick the cry engine or the unreal game, maybe soon the frostbite looking games, i guess ( hope ) this will be another contender up there
So apparently the current financial difficulties are driving everyone to remakes and sequels. To be fair, Konami has the kind of back catalog that warrants such treatment. Still, I'm not seeing a lot of risk-taking around the major players.
I'd be a lot more excited about Metal Gear Solid HD upgrades and re-makes if I didn't already have copies of the ENTIRE series. A Silent Hill HD upgrade would be nice, the PS1 original on my shelf hasn't exactly aged gracefully. I still worry that they won't get it right. After all, Shattered Memories was supposed to be a kind of SH1 re-make.
I wasn't excited about MGS HD until I did a double-take and noticed PEACEWALKER! I would have bought a port of that on its own so I'm sure not gonna complain about getting two extra HD ports in the same pack.
Would have been nice to see a Portable Ops + Peacewalker pack though.
Zone of enders in HD.!? holly crap!
I'm probably the only person in the planet who's
Actually wished for that to happen
If konami was a woman I'd marry/stalk her >>;;;
By HD they meant same game in higher resolutions, remake is more equivalent to what metal gear 3ds is doing.
One large part of me is happy, another part is pessimistic considering they ripped out backwards-compatibility in the first place.
transfarring makes up for it, how does that work, do you have to buy the game twice, or do you buy one copy and connect it to your account so that you can get it on psp too?
ZOE 3 please. Don't need HD re-release when I already own originals.
P.S. Although the above pics are just engine examples, it does make me wonder what a game featuring a shirtless dude and a dog companion in the jungle would be like.
What the hell? I was just on kotaku, and have just realised they aren't boxing ICO and Shadow together, and they aren't boxing all of the metal gears together either! These HD remakes are rip-offs! >:(
Looking forward to that ZOE re-release though, 2 is impossible to find for a reasonable price, so I'm definitely picking up the re-release, always thought it was very interesting that it had 2D animated cut-scenes.
The collections come as one everywhere except Japan. In Japan, you need to buy them per game.
Sounds good, but I'm more pissed at how terrible MGS3 looks on 3ds now. It went from the amazing tech stuff shown early, to sub-ps2 level graphics, what the hell?
Isn't "transfarring" just a way of making you buy an NGP, that is if games that are compatible with it include additional content only for people that use "transfarring"
I would love to see an HD version of the first Silent Hill. No gameplay changes, or anything whacky like that, just the original with a facelift. And more than just higher res textures. Something along the lines of Wipeout HD, where they really beefed up the polycounts, and the overall look of everything.
That "C" at the end makes me very happy. Any chance that'll be the game Kojima was working on in stealth mode? (Nah, I don't think so either)

I thought they were joking when watching that, figured it was some insiders joke.
