Hi all.
I'm sculpting on a asian male head but I'm at a point where I am stuck in a rut and can't seem to figure out how to further optimize my sculpt, though I know its not quite there yet "if you know what I mean"
Also, I try to keeping the facial style from the pictures instead of the painting. "The eyes are different"
Please help me out with some criticism and correcting.
Thanks.
Zelly.

go study some anatomy first.
you are at a stage where it is too early to provide any specific critique to your model.
can i get a sideview?
MM: To be honest I cant see what there should be wrong with the anatomy?
Here is a earlier stage of the model before I started to match it to the pictures.
As you can see I tended to model of the painting I the start, though he is way less muscular and framed in the real pictures.
How does they match now? I made the ears and nose smaller and removed the mouth since I just want to focus on the forms.
I think its misleading to say study(study denotes a school of some kind), all you really need to do is look at and understand the forms that you are trying to recreate. Its basically doing what you are doing but really looking at the anatomy. Dont look at a single ref but many and really look at them(that ref you have isnt very clear). You dont need to understand all the muscles or anything (although the skeleton, skull especially is good to know) How much you need to know is how well you want to recreate.
This can be really helpful in figuring out what the muscles in the face attach to and how they operate. It can be kind of hard and confusing to look at just an anatomy drawing of head. But when you can isolate and watch each one move it really does help.
Check out Andrew Loomis's Drawing the Head and Hands and then just practice a lot. Don't hesitate to pick up a pen and some paper.
even sculptors practice a lot through 2d, good suggestion
