Hello,

I am a big fan of light linking in maya. I was just wondering if people know of something similar in udk?

I checked a few places and googled it, but nothing too relevant. The only way i can do something similar is to use point lights with little intensity or spotlights. Is this the way most people do this?

Thanks

ok there may be a terminology problem here - in udk you can definitely link a light to another object - but this is more like a heirachy link where it inherits the motion of the other object.

What you want sounds like lighting channels. Have a look in the properties of the light and there's a drop down called "channels". If you set your light to only use one of the extra channels (eg: custom_1) as well as the existing channels it'll only affect objects that have that channel enabled. You need to set this channel in the object you want it to affect too.
