Hahaha, sneak attack thread. Guess it had to happen sooner or later.
Thanks for the kind words, always good to hear from you guys
Few weeks ago my portfolio got send around Dice to see what their reaction would be.
Not much later i already had a respons and an art test to work on. This art test was good fun, bunker test ofcourse, with me having no terrain, nor buildings experience. Had to learn UDK aswell to get things done, lost a few days cause i was exhausted too. Somehow they liked what ever it was i finaly submitted.
A week later I got asked if i would like to work at dice, and if i could start the week after. My response basicly was im ready when you are. Things got arranged nicely and flew to stockholm on sunday, arrived at the hotel/appartment at night, rolled to work the day after. I think everything happened under 4 weeks.
Almost a week past by now, learned a ton about setting up the workflow needed to get things ingame. Specialy cause i rather not use Maya, so im one of the only max people here working on a maya pipeline, and since it's all under quite a deadline here, it would save me a ton of time adjusting my workflow. So yeah.. next week ill just be running full production like a chained monkey to a desk.
The company is great though, they arrange everything and were fast in their responses. They have alot of nice stuff around and take good care of us.
The team im working with is great.
So far my job is creating .. stuff, levels, so if you see something there thats out of place.. wasnt me.
I hardly understand stockholm at this point, but i know how to use the subway to work and back, so if any of you guys are up for a beer let me know.
yeah Im up for a beer! (coke that is..cola even..dont want to get TOO friendly just yet)
I work at avalanche, just one station away from you a lunch or whatever is fine too!

Hahaha yeah Xoliul, lots of people showed up
This thread exploded with posts in a short period of time.
Eventhough it is not Bungie or 343.. yeah 343.. I feel very at home here.
Looking back at the hireing process it gives me a good kick now and then.
Perfect timing, seemed like they actualy were looking for someone.
After sending over my portfolio, I got called up with an offer instead, and when i asked about an interview i got a contracted handed to me.
Time flies, my first week here is done, but it feels like it has been longer then that. Guess that means i feel good about my position here.
one thing i did notice is .. that to my surprise the ladies in stockholm are not as tall as i expected. and damn what do these streets go up and down. Not sure if i will get my mountainbike over but that should give some interesting rides.
For now all i packed was a few tshirts and pants, so ill leave this thread for a little, might be that i show up at work this weekend, finish some stuff up and post some. asdf, already in the mean mixing machine.
Vig, crazyfingers, it was about damn time huh haha :P
