Starting a new character, Buck the Clubsmith, one of jouste's terrific concepts (http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53005&page=18). Would love any feedback at this stage, especially whether I more or less have the proportions right:
That depends on what you are planning to do with this. Is this going to be a game res character with normal maps or is it just going to be just diffuse? Its looking good for a base mesh though
Good start. You should work on the creases in the pants, shirt and the muscle definition. I thought that he had long sleeves until I looked at the concept. The feet/ankles looks too small to function. That's the way they appear in the concept, but the rest of your model isn't as exaggerated and cartoony, so there feet look out of place. The same thing is true about the club. Your model looks kind of blobby and doesn't have the same style and zazz that the concept has, so it looks a bit off. In the drawings, the shapes are more bold, so the proportions don't look off. I do this as well sometimes in my art - I'm afraid to make mistakes so I become a bit too conservative and end up with a model that isn't as good as it would have been if I'd pushed it further.
