I need to find out how to make a Quake III Model

Someone on youtube by the name of niwon, made a video showing his finshed model, by the name of meta, and he gave me a link to how he made it, he also tod me i could get help on the polycount. could i get assistance? i'm a newbie in modeling. i just dont know how to do it

    The way he made the models was to use 3D Studio Max 3, Character Studio and a bunch of other tools. By now i'd imagine all the MD3 exporting stuff necessary have been long regressed.

    One way you can still do it now is Blender which has a somewhat stable MD3 export plugin. You'd generally have to have two armatures (one for the pelvis/legs, and one for the spine/torso/arms/neck), at least one mesh object for each, plus one for the head which has no armature. All must be centered on the 0,0,0 origin so they can be aligned by tags (empties in Blender) attached to various bones.

    It's a complicated trial and error process really since the Q3 player system is one big hack. Even worse, you can't have the 'easy way out' by using the BIP files released by id either so you'd have to make all the animations yourself from scratch.
