I am currently trying to learn how to render my characters. I've been using maya but I don't feel I've set up my shader properly because nothing ever comes out to be very clean. I've also been finding an interest in displaying my characters in UDK. If anyone can explain how to display a character with either of these tools it would really be appreciated. Also, what is Marmoset? Is that part of UDK? I am sorry if a thread similar to this already exists, I wasn't sure.

Try using the HQ display or the Viewport 2.0 options.
I've experienced some issues regarding the said options above. I've been working with Unity , and for the final test(alphas, normal maps etc) I use Unity shaders.
