This is just a quick movie of my finished stage which was for Brawl. It was loosely based on a samurai shodown stage, the old temple. I had a blast doing it and got most of it done to how I would like.
@Xoliul - I used to be an fx artist so hopefully that shows
There's also a light function in there which is hard to pick out but it adds to the movement. The lamps use emit initloc where I have one particle following another.
BOOM! this is amazing!! Although I am biased. I love cherry blossom trees and am a sucker for them.
But seriously this is amazing stuff. The motion is where its at. I would love to see this in a fighting game. Do you have a link to a higher res version of this video? I'd like the see the highest you've got!
When I get some free time I'll try and dissect the stage at some point and show how I set it all up - what worked, what didn't etc.
@rv_el: Unfortunately 720p is the highest res I have of the footage. My computer took a while churning that out - not sure how it would cope with anything higher!
this is amazing! one thing that bugs me though! the trees branches dont feel like they are moving hard enough with how strong that wind is. you should watch some hurricane videos on youtube and just watch how the strong winds blow on trees. Cause right now you have this effect that feels like really strong winds are blowing and pretty stiff trees. other than that, AMAZING!!

Are those trees SpeedTree or did you make them yourself?
Hoping for a walkthrough/tutorial in the future.
