This is a new prop project I am working on for a class. It is a wrist communicator. I a happy with where it is so far, but I want to add something else to is, some more character. Any advice would be great. Also crits are welcome.
I would give more depth to the the buttons. It looks like a blackberry to me. Try changing up the shape of the buttons better, so they aren't so square.
I'm liking where this is going. All it really needs just what p3r4app01 said is better contrast with depth, some bevelling with the screen probably to show it's a bit extruded in.
One of these speakers parallel the mic in the open space would be neat to show the viewer lastly how they hear something from this. Just I would play with proportion so that it doesn't look like it would bother user of this.
Wouldnt puting a speaker right next to the mic be a bad idea? wouldnt that cause audio problems with the person on the other end hearing the echo of themselves?
Thats a very valid point. The part of the wrist communicator is designed to slide out, if the user wishes, but i can see the buttons being more used in the perpendicular position.
Ive changed the button orientation and added some speakers and a scanner panel to the front. Im going to consider the high poly done for now. Im gonna move on to the low poly.

Something like this seems pretty cool for design, and fits the style your going for

think about how you would need to move your wrist to see it.
Thanks
