I was searching for your portfolio site a while ago to see your work. I'm happy you've posted your stuff.
I agree on the things already said. Everything looks polished and has exceptonal quality. I favor your barriers very much. Both the steel and concrete barriers just look awesome.
As for the warehouse and in general your environment work: You might think of putting some wireframe shots into your folio. It would be interesting to see how geomtry and textures are working together. If not for the complete environments at least for the warehouse as you were exclusively responsible for the modeling. But wires for the environment assests wouldn't hurt either.
EDIT: Also it could be interesting to show the concepts which were provided if you are allowed to show those.
Whats with the awesome scifi-SpecOp-chick you were doing back in 2007? I remember it was really impressive. If its finished and matches you current skill-level why not put it in there.
Congrats on your work on crysis2. Loved the game although I haven't finfished it yet.
@Slave_Zero
What are u up to these days? I might be able to post some wires for the C2 stuff sometime soon, there are still some legal issues with posting production artwork (same goes for the concepts).
Won´t post any older work since its fairly dated now and I don´t have time to update things atm.
this is me being REALLY NITPICKY! but the 3rd shot of the ford looks like its in orthographic. just something personal that bugs me. :P
I have a question:
at crytek do you do the lighting? or is that handled by the level designer? or is it someone else?
I'm currently employed at Funatics in Oberhausen as a sort of allround Artist with focus on doing environment work.
Greetings to Manuel if you see him in the office.
Maybe we should do a germany pc-meeting from time to time. I think it has happened once if I remember.
Anyway. Keep on. You're doing great work.
Congrats to all the Crytek team on such a gorgeous and enjoyable game.
It seems even though the environments in Crysis 2 are packed full of assets you guys still managed to dedicate decent poly and texture budgets to each asset and building. I presume this is due to streaming ? I wish we had that on Motorstorm Apocalypse.
love the part where you go round breaking stuff, someday i hope i can put that in my portfolio =]
Rendered in Maya, materials were just standard Blinn mtls with a custom cubemap applied. Nothing fancy ^^
The lighting is done by our lighting artist Pierre-Yves Donzallaz
Incredible.
Cool. He probably already read that. Let me know if you happen to be in Frankfurt, we´ll have some drinks with everyone...

I am curious of a few things, but I'll only ask one q, the bolts on that fighter plane, which is epic btw, how did you place them all? Script? Paint geo?
Thanks. Truly wicked work.
they were placed using the smart duplicate script from ticket01.
Basically it allows you to project them onto the geometry using splines as guides and an underlaying surface as the control surface.
Good to see some other germans around here, I am german too and I also live in the Rhein.Main-Area. wanna help out a newcomer? Add me ICQ: 595566719 or SKYPE: vr_hamza
